Binham Priory

Today one can see many of  the ruins of Binham Priory that date back to the 11th Century, although the nave of the priory church has been lovingly restored and is still used today as a place of worship. The whole area around the priory is devoted to agriculture and a thriving tourist and holiday industry. The Norfolk  coast is much loved by many holiday makers for its long sandy beaches.

Binham Priory

Walking around the ruins of Binham Priory you begin to get an idea of how big this priory must have been. Many of the remnants of walls have been built up to give the visitor a better  understanding of how the priory must have once looked. Inside the church one must admire the pure simplcity  and the calming effect it bestows upon the visitor. If you ever get the chance to be in this part of Norfolk do visit this lovingly restored building. It’s well worth a visit.
